Units conversion problem

First let me begin by saying that I am impressed with Visualsizer and look forward to using it a lot :)

Now, on to a problem I've discovered. It appears that there is a bug in the units conversion calculation. I have an application with a motor having an intertia of 1.33 gm-cm^2 and a load of 0.074 gm-cm^2. The program converts this to 0.00000134 Nm-s² (1.34E-6), which is off by a factor of 10 (too large).

(Wilfred, you and I have corresponded about this problem already, but I haven't gotten a reply from you in several weeks...)

Thanks in advance, and thanks for Visualsizer!

Hi Darrin,

First, thank you very much for the kind words regarding VisualSizer.

Secondly, I do apologize for the late response, but things were a little crazy lately...;-))

This latest version of VisualSizer that we all have (Version 5.80.040) has the conversion already corrected in the corresponding database. However, the incorrect conversion factor is also stored in the application file you created at the time when you discovered the error. Please re-create your application from scratch and let me know if the conversion error still exists and exactly where it occurs.

Wilfried,

Re-creating the application from scratch solved the problem. Thanks for the prompt reply.

Wilfried,

I have also corresponded with you about this factor-of-10 inertia unit conversion problem in the past.  I just downloaded version 5.80.050 today and still the see conversion problem, even when I start an application from scratch.

Before installing version .050 I uninstalled version .040 through the Windows Add/Remove Programs function.  Are there additional files I need to delete or uninstall that might be causing this problem to linger?

In the last email you sent me (Feb 4, 2009) you mentioned the next released version would fix this problem.  Maybe .050 is not that version?

Thanks as always,

Eric,
Go to http://www.copperhillmedia.com/VisualSizer/VisualSizerDownload.html and download the newest version. The conversion error has been corrected.
